Gentle Reminder

She can be still and quiet!

After a less than perfect week, sometimes Momma needs a gentle reminder of how precious her darling really is. Thank you, Lord for this vivacious fireball...who is finally asleep.

A Trip to the Zoo

Last week Ellie's class went to the Birmingham Zoo on a field trip and I got to tag along. She had a blast walking around with her friends, riding the train, carousel, and camel, feeding the birds, and eating ice cream. Poor little thing slipped in the mud during their picnic lunch and busted her mouth on the picnic table. She even chipped a tooth! The funny part was when two teachers ran over with ice and paper towels and offered to throw away Ellie's remaining sandwich, which was still in her hand. Ellie pulled her hand away as the teacher reached for it and stuffed it into her mouth. That's my girl!

Feeding the birds may have been her favorite!
I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!

Nothing heals a puffy lip like strawberry ice cream!

Ending the trip on the carousel...one happy girl!

Easter Fun

What a fun-filled weekend we've had. Both girls ended the week with Easter parties at school and then joined in the fun at our church egg hunt Saturday afternoon. Boy, did they come home with baskets overflowing!
Found one!
After church Sunday, we went to Mimi's for brunch and more egg hunting. My stepsister, Devon, was a great sport hiding the eggs over and over and over again. She even shared her candy...novel idea, I know!

Sadie Kate and Devon covered their eyes as Ellie hid the eggs...round 2.

Some were easier to find than others!!

Ellie found one with coins inside!

Sadie Kate's hunt came to a halt each time an egg opened in her basket.

Overheard

Ellie wanted to take her Easter book to school for her teacher to read to the class. She said that Jesus died on the cross to save her from her dirty sins and if she took The Easter Story to school, everyone in her class would know about Jesus. Sadie Kate picked a book to take to school as well...The Lorax. Ellie looked at Sadie Kate in disbelief and said, "That book doesn't even have Jesus in it." Sadie Kate replied,"But it has the Lorax and that's just as good."
