Life's a Beach!

We just returned from a glorious vacation at the beach. We went with two other families, who are great friends of ours and have children Ellie and Sadie Kate's ages. The kids loved jumping over the waves, building sandcastles, burying each other, water slides, lazy rivers, football in the pool, eating way too much junk, and staying up late watching movies and playing Legos...oh yeah, and pushing the buttons on the elevators. I will admit, the vacation was just what we needed. I hadn't realized how badly Mark and I needed more time together, as well as time with close friends. There was lots of overdue laughing, donut eating, milkshake making, book reviewing, movie going, seafood eating, and general merriment on this trip...and I think the kids had fun, too.

And...We're Back!

After several weeks with no laptop, the Mayos are finally back in the technological swing of things! This, of course, means that the next few blog posts will be bursting with Ellie and Sadie Kate sweetness!!

So, here goes...

In May (forever ago, I know), we took the girls to the zoo. Ellie had gone a few weeks prior on a class trip, leaving her darling little sister a fine shade of green! They LOVED everything about the zoo: the animals, the train, the carousel, the splash pad, and even the food. Ellie talked incessantly about going back to feed the birds (a highlight from the class trip) and she just knew that Sadie Kate would love it too.
WRONG!!! I know, we all could have called that one!

I think the phrase, "Daddy, get me out of here!" was captured here.

Ellie FINALLY got her wish...more nectar, more birds!

Happy once again!

Happy, still!

Technical Difficulties

Disclaimer: The Mayo computer is currently experiencing technical difficulties (water kills laptops); therefore, posts will be scarce until the proper repairs are made. However...we do have walls in our new house although I can't upload pics on my iPad, Sadie Kate is now swimming without her floatie and is immensely astonished and proud of her new accomplishment, and Ellie got her ears priced on the last day of kindergarten and has proven herself quite responsible by taking care of them each day without prompting from Mom or Dad. Hopefully, I will be able to post pictures soon...they are trapped on my laptop by a non functioning keypad.
